Google Kenya to Launch Online Map of Country

Google Kenya is set to launch a map of Kenya online, the first East African online map. This is a boost for the country as it joins the over 100 countries listed on Google maps across the world.

The online maps are easy to use and can be loaded with ease on mobile phones and computers, even with low internet speeds.

Moreover, the maps can support embedded information like, YouTube and Google videos. Businesses can use these features to showcase their products to people all over the world. For example, a hotel can add videos on the map to show their customers how the hotel looks like inside.

The global IT Company, which will get its information from the government, promises to update the information on new roads and buildings as well as improve on the quality of the maps.

Established mid-last year, the Google Kenya office has been working with Kenyan university graduates and a team from India to put Kenya online literally.
